I think I need a handyman!

4/13/17

Hola chicos,

Buenos días 🙂

For our blog post today we have a question from Queta, from our Advanced 2 level class.

Queta asks: How to say handyman.  I have found the following words, but I am not sure anyone uses them: hacedetodo, hacelotodo, (un/una) manitas, hombre para todo.

To get this question answered I have surveyed teachers, friends & family from different Spanish speaking countries, and of course there are many answers:

Gracia – Mexico: Ayudante, trabajador

Daniela – Mexico: “Milusos” “multi usos” o ayudante general

Susanna/Octavi – Spain: Manitas

Caro/Peter/Sergio (AKA El Papi) – Chile: Maestro Chasquillas (of course Chile had the weirdest answer!)

So as you can see there are numerous ways to say “handyman” in Spanish, but “Milusos” and “Manitas” are the 2 most common.

Besitos,
Caro
