¡Hola chicos!  ¡Feliz viernes!  Espero que no se los lleve el viento hoy…

This week I want to talk about getting the most out of your classes at PBO.

So you signed up for classes and hopefully you come to those, but what else is there?

Facebook: Every day one of the teachers posts a conversation topic or question on Facebook, answers it and makes some corrections for the responses from the previous day.  Participating in our conversations is a great way to augment your vocabulary, enhance your writing skills and improve your grammar.  Plus it only takes 5 minutes a day!  In addition we always add articles, podcasts and lessons exclusively on our Facebook page.

Optional Homework:  Every week we make 2 recommendations for homework; the “main” optional homework and the “extra” optional homework.
The “main” optional homework is often a more hands-on, outside-the-box type of homework and we often use it in class the following week.  The “extra” homework is the more academic homework, which involves a grammar workbook.  You can find both written on the board in class each week + posted in the blog each Saturday morning.  (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/practice-makes-perfect-gilda-nissenberg/1123869830?ean=9781259584190&st=PLA&sid=BNB_DRS_Core+Shopping+Books_00000000&2sid=Google_&sourceId=PLGoP62465)

Social Club events:  Every month the students plan a social club event.  This gives us an opportunity to meet outside of class, to meet students of other levels and to practice our Spanish with a cocktail in hand 🙂  Fun, fun, fun!  The next event is at Lee’s house in PB next Sunday.  I hope you all attend (please remember to RSVP on MindBody – if you can’t figure out how to sign up, please contact me – I would be happy to walk you through it)!

Link of the week:  Have you checked out our link of the week?  You can find it in the weekly newsletter, in the section marked “links.”  (How appropriate is that?)  Every week I share a website or app for you to check out that may help you with your Spanish.  These are fantastic resources and I feel that 1 per week makes it less overwhelming than getting a list of 50 at one time.

Ok chicos, well I hope that you are taking advantage of all that Pura Buena Onda offers!

¡Que tengan un lindo finde!

Besitos,
Caro
