As I read the blurbs that the students who have advanced write for the newsletter, I am reminded of the simplest but most effective tip that I could possibly give you. To advance your Spanish and retain what you have learned, simply work on your Spanish for a minimum of 10-15 minutes per day, every. single. day. Yes, this includes Sunday.
I would recommend making a list of things that you can do, and picking one each day. Make a list that has a variety of things (like newspaper article from xxx.com, or xxx grammar workbook or xxx radio station, etc.) so that if you’re not in the mood to work in your grammar workbook, perhaps you can watch a tv show or listen to a podcast. Or if you’re running low on time that day, maybe you can listen to the radio on the way to & from work. And if you’re feeling extroverted and confident, you could go practice your Spanish with random strangers. If you’re feeling smart, you could read a world news report in Spanish.
The point is to practice your Spanish DAILY & to have a variety of ways to do it so that you don’t get bored 🙂 Make your list today!
