Have you ever thought about how holidays are a perfect time to learn new vocabulary? Things happen around holidays that don’t happen in our day to day lives.
For example, the 4th of July is on Monday. Are you familiar with words that may be associated with the 4th, like parade, barbecue, fireworks, crowds, etc.?
My tip to you is to take this opportunity to learn some new vocab associated with your holiday weekend. Maybe on Monday night you can sit down and journal (either by writing or speaking) about your weekend, taking the time to look up new words.
Sometimes learning a language is about taking the opportunities that are presented to you…in this case, a holiday weekend ☺
